Calendars for iOS now updated with Tasks support

Nov 2, 2010

Today Readdle announced the release of Calendars 2.0, a major upgrade to its universal iPhone/iPad application for tracking events and appointments based on Google's online calendar. The new version of Calendars lets people manage tasks and events, create to-do lists and sync their information with a Google account.

The most important new feature of Calendars 2.0 is a full integration with Google Tasks. Now users can create, delete and modify tasks within the application. For a handy reference, tasks with due dates are automatically displayed alongside other events in the calendar. All edits are synchronized with Google account immediately.

"iCal, Outlook, and Google Calendars allow you to use both tasks and events to plan the day. But the native iPhone and iPad calendars only work with the events," explains Igor Zhadanov, Readdle CEO. "With Calendars 2.0, now it's finally possible to combine your tasks, events and calendars all within a single app."

Calendars 2.0 sports a redesigned user interface on the iPad to display more information on a single screen. A complete weeklong schedule is shown on one screen in the same way Google Calendar does, which enables users to quickly find free time in their schedule and plan new events accordingly.

For devices with iOS 4.0 and later, Calendars 2.0 can display events from the built-in calendar. This lets people overview calendars synced with their device via iTunes as well as Birthdays calendar. The events are read-only at the moment but will be editable soon.

Pricing and Availability:
Calendars 2.0 is available on the Apple App Store for $6.99 (USD) and it is a free upgrade for existing users. Calendars is a universal application, which works on the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad.
