We're looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team on a 1-year maternity cover basis — with a genuine possibility of growing into a permanent role. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-impact legal function at an international tech company operating across multiple jurisdictions. You'll broaden your tech legal skillset across commercial contracts, IP, data privacy, employment, marketing, and product regulation. Working directly with senior leadership, you'll have real ownership from day one.
What you will do:
- Own the end-to-end legal support for commercial, product, and corporate initiatives, enabling the business to move quickly while managing legal risk.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, delivering practical solutions that protect Readdle's interests and support business objectives.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Marketing, HR, Finance, Product, Engineering, and Leadership) to provide timely legal advice and facilitate informed decision-making.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks across new products, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
- Develop, improve, and maintain scalable legal templates, policies, and processes that increase efficiency and consistency across the organization.
- Support the management and protection of Readdle's intellectual property portfolio and contribute to dispute resolution when required.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and translate them into actionable guidance, training, and compliance initiatives for the business.
About you:
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, either as in-house counsel or in a law firm advising technology or international businesses.
- Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements independently.
- Practical, business-oriented approach with the ability to balance legal risk against commercial objectives.
- Solid knowledge of corporate, commercial, employment, and intellectual property law.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex legal issues in a clear, concise, and pragmatic manner.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
Would be a plus:
- Experience supporting SaaS, mobile applications, or technology companies.
- Familiarity with data privacy and AI regulation (e.g., GDPR, EU AI Act).
- Experience managing trademark and other intellectual property portfolios.
- Knowledge of advertising, consumer protection, or platform-related legal requirements.
- Experience building legal processes, templates, or contract automation workflows.
- Experience supporting international employment matters across multiple jurisdictions.
