Import Files to Scanner Pro: keep all your important documents in one place

We know you’ve been waiting for it, and now the Import Files feature is here. It allows you to easily add all your documents from your device into Scanner Pro, and then do anything you usually do with documents there: edit, recognize text, or convert to other formats. 

Gone are the days of sifting through countless apps to handle your files. With Import Files, you can effortlessly bring in all your PDFs and images from your Files app straight into Scanner Pro. 

Not only can you digitize your paper documents with Scanner Pro, but you can also add your existing digital files, like those handy PDFs, emailed receipts, and documents you've previously scanned. This way, all your valuable documents will be stored together, and could be easily edited or converted if needed. Even better, there is no limit on the number of documents you can import. 

Import Files is a step towards organizing your digital and scanned documents and keeping them saved in one place:

• Scan your ID, passport, and driving license and import previously scanned IDs to keep them safely together in one folder and be prepared for any travel or ID check you might have. 
• Keep all your medical documents together: test results and X-rays that you get by email, doctor’s diagnosis, and prescriptions that you get in paper form. 
• Save receipts and invoices for taxes and reimbursement - hotel, flight invoices, restaurant receipts, and utility bills whether they are received by email or scanned from paper. Use the Expense Report feature to capture all key data from all of your receipts and get automatically created expense reports. 
• Keep all the insurance docs from the insurers that have been emailed and paper invoices that you get in paper form.

With Import Files, you can now recognize text using Scanner Pro’s OCR feature in old scanned documents or images that you have stored on your device or iCloud Drive, and save them as Text docs. Also, fax the document you receive by email. To do this, save the attached document from your inbox to the Files app on your device, then import it to Scanner Pro and use the Share > Send Fax option.

How to import any documents into Scanner Pro:

1. Open the Scanner Pro app. 
2. Choose the Import Files option from the More Menu in the upper right corner. 
3. Choose the files you want to import (PDFs, PNGs, JPGs, or other image formats).
4. After the upload, you can see files on the Home Page. You can leave them there or add them to the folder. To create a new folder, go to the Pull Down menu > New Folder.

How to import documents from other scanner apps into Scanner Pro

In case you have scanned documents in other scanner apps, you can easily transfer them to Scanner Pro in 5 steps:

1. Open the other scanner app. 
2. Select the files you want to export from it, tap on the Share option, and tap ‘Save to Files.’
3. Open the Scanner Pro app and tap on the Import Files option.
4. Choose the files you just previously exported.
5. After the upload, you can see files on the Home Page. 

How to import documents from Apple Notes into Scanner Pro:

Many of us store essential information in the Apple Notes. If you want to save it securely in Scanner Pro, you can do this by converting a note into a PDF and importing it into Scanner Pro:

1. Open the note you want to save.
2. Tap on the Share icon at the top of the screen and choose the ‘Print’ option. 
3. Tap on the Share icon again and choose ‘Save to Files.’ The note will be saved as a PDF in the Files folder. 
4. Open the Scanner Pro app and tap on the Import Files option.
5. Choose the PDF you just previously exported.
6. After the upload, you can see the file on the Home Page.
