Readdle Inc. today announced the release of the 8th generation of its popular iPhone and iPad scanning app Scanner Pro. The new version sees the app updated with a fresh new look, enhanced user experience and deeply integrated multi-language on-device text recognition:
1. Supplementing Scanner Pro’s best-in-class image processing the app has been completely redesigned to make the scanning and organising of documents simpler and faster.
2. Upgraded Optical Character Recognition (OCR) enables documents in 26 languages to be scanned and converted into text, which can be quickly and easily read, copied and shared directly from the app.
3. Ability to find scans using words and phrases contained within them and to search within a document via text recognition automatically applied to anything Scanner Pro users scan.

The release also marks the start of a new chapter for Scanner Pro as it moves to become a freemium subscription product. The new app has been released as a free product with an optional premium upgrade priced at $19.99 a year. The premium version is offered with a 7-day free trial that can be canceled at any time. Existing Scanner Pro customers will be able to access the premium version of the new app for free.
