Calendars Community Terms

These Calendars Community Terms (the “Community Terms”) govern your access to and participation in the Calendars Community Program (the “Program”), an opt-in rewards and community initiative made available to the eligible users of the Calendars application (“Calendars” or the “App”), operated by Readdle Limited (“Readdle”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

The dedicated “Personal Data in Community Program” section of the Privacy Notice for Calendars sets out how we process personal data in connection with the Program, and should be read alongside the remainder of the Privacy Notice for Calendars, which covers our data processing practices.

By opting into the Program within the App, you (“Community Member” or “you”) confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Community Terms. Your use of the App continues to be governed by the Terms of Service for Calendars.

Program Overview

The Program is a community-based initiative through which eligible Calendars users may, upon completion of defined activities ("Challenges"), gain access to a dedicated online community hosted on Discord (“Community”) and earn rewards in the form of in-app benefits and external incentives ("Rewards").

Eligibility

To be eligible to participate in the Program, you must be a user of Calendars, have received an in-app invitation to join the Program, complete the first Challenge and join the Community.

Participation in the Program is by invitation only. Readdle reserves the sole right to determine which users receive an invitation. Receipt of an in-app invitation does not constitute a guarantee of continued access to the Program or any specific Reward.

If you do not agree to these Community Terms, you must not participate in the Program.

Challenges

A Challenge is a specific activity defined by Readdle and made available in the App or the Community that Community Members may complete in order to qualify for a Reward. The Challenges may fall into, but are not limited to, the following categories:

Content Challenges (UGC): activities that involve creating and publishing original content featuring or referencing Calendars on third-party social media platforms, including Instagram and TikTok. This includes, for example, sharing productivity tips, lifestyle or planning content, routines, and similar material using Readdle-provided branded templates.
Participation Challenges: activities that involve engaging with Readdle’s research processes, such as completing surveys or participating in user interviews.

Readdle reserves the right to implement new categories of Challenges within the App or the Community environment.

When participating in content-sharing Challenges, you may be provided with branded templates or guidelines to assist you. You acknowledge that any user content published on third-party platforms is made public by your own action, and Readdle does not publish content on your behalf.

Community

The Calendars Community is hosted exclusively on Discord. Joining the Calendars Discord server is a required step in the Program enrollment and Challenge verification process.

You acknowledge that your access to and use of the Community is governed by the terms of service, privacy policies, and other applicable terms of Discord. Readdle is not responsible for the operation, functionality, security, or data handling practices of any third-party platform.

The Community serves multiple purposes, including but not limited to: Challenges completion verification, product updates, user support, feedback collection, and user-to-user interaction. We encourage you to participate actively in the Community and contribute in a constructive, respectful, and collaborative way.

Verification

To verify the completion of a Challenge, you will be required to join our Community and submit proof of completion (such as a screenshot of your post or link to the active Instagram story) to the specified Community channel.

Readdle will process your submission within a reasonable timeframe and notify you of the outcome via the Community.

Readdle reserves the right to approve or reject any submission at its discretion, including on the basis that the content does not comply with these Community Terms or the Challenge requirements.

Community Members must not delete or make private their submitted post prior to the completion of verification. Readdle does not track post publication through the App and relies on the submitted screenshot as proof of completion.

Rewards

Rewards are granted solely upon successful completion and verification of a Challenge.

Rewards may include in-app benefits (such as access to paid features or early access to defined features within the App) and/or external rewards (such as gift cards). The specific Rewards available for each Challenge will be communicated within the App and/or the Community at the time the Challenge is published. Readdle is not responsible for delays or failures in Reward delivery caused by third-party service providers or external Reward issuers. External Rewards are additionally subject to the terms and conditions of the issuing third party.

Rewards may be personalized based on the Community Member’s user segment. Readdle reserves the right to change, substitute, or withdraw available Rewards at any time, including prior to the completion of a Challenge.

Unless otherwise stated:

Rewards may not be exchanged for cash or alternative rewards;
Rewards are not cumulative across the same Challenge;
The Community Member may receive only one Reward for completion of one Challenge;
Rewards are personal to the individual Community Member and are non-transferable.

Rewards may vary depending on the Community Member’s app experience and engagement. Readdle reserves the right to revoke Rewards obtained in violation of these Community Terms.

Intellectual Property

All Calendars-branded templates, assets, and materials made available through the Program by Readdle are the intellectual property of Readdle. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use such materials solely for the purpose of participating in a Challenge.

You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, sublicense, or otherwise exploit any Readdle intellectual property outside of the scope of participation in the Program, and you may not register or claim any rights in respect of Readdle’s trademarks, brand assets, or templates.

You retain ownership of the original content you create and publish on third-party platforms (such as Instagram or TikTok) in connection with a Challenge. Readdle-provided templates remain the intellectual property of Readdle.

By participating in a Challenge and publishing content that references or features Calendars, you grant Readdle a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, display, share, and promote your published content across Readdle’s owned and operated marketing channels, including social media, the App, and other promotional materials, for the purposes of promoting the Calendars product and the Program.

You may request removal of your content from Readdle’s channels at any time by contacting us.

Content Standards

All content submitted or published in connection with a Challenge must:

be truthful and not misleading about Calendars or its features;
comply with the community guidelines and terms of service of the platform on which it is published (Instagram, TikTok, or other as applicable);
comply with applicable law, including consumer protection and advertising regulations;
not contain material that is defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise harmful.
Readdle reserves the right to reject any Challenge submission that does not meet these standards, without prejudice to any other rights Readdle may have under these Community Terms or applicable law.

Advertising Disclosure Obligation

Where you receive a Reward in exchange for publishing content about Calendars, you might be required to disclose the commercial nature of that content in accordance with applicable advertising laws in your jurisdiction. This includes, using clear labels such as “#ad”, “#gifted” or an equivalent designation in your jurisdiction.

Readdle may provide guidance on appropriate disclosure language at your request, but compliance with disclosure obligations is your sole responsibility. Readdle accepts no liability for your failure to comply with applicable advertising disclosure requirements.

Community Code of Conduct

As a Community Member and a member of the Community, you must adhere to the following requirements:

Ensure that your actions within the Community comply with all applicable laws and regulations;
Do not harvest, share, record, publish, or otherwise disclose the personal information, private discussions, or contact details of other Community Members or Readdle employees without their express consent.
Do not use the Community for unsolicited self-promotion, advertising, soliciting, or promoting your own business or any third-party products or services;
Do not impersonate others or misrepresent your identity or relationship with Readdle or any third parties;
Do not engage in any activity that is illegal, fraudulent, misleading, or violates the rights of others;
Do not upload, store, transmit, distribute or otherwise make available any content that is unlawful, harassing, threatening, fraudulent, harmful (e.g., viruses and malware), or that infringes upon the intellectual property rights of any third party;
Do not engage in spamming, excessive posting, or other disruptive behavior;
Maintain a respectful environment free from harassment, discrimination, or threats of violence;
Respect the intellectual property of Readdle and others;
Do not engage in any activity that may damage the reputation of Readdle;
Adhere to the terms of service (or equivalent) and applicable policies of any third-party platforms or services (e.g., Discord) used to access the Community;
Comply with any additional rules or guidelines that Readdle may share within the Community.

A breach of this Code of Conduct may result in the immediate suspension or permanent termination of your Community access. Readdle, or its designated moderators, reserve the right to review and remove any message or content that we reasonably believe violates these Community Terms, including the Code of Conduct, or applicable law.

Confidentiality

While your social media posts are intended to be public, certain aspects of the Program, including Community internal communications, are strictly confidential. You must not disclose, publish, or distribute any proprietary information outside the Community without written consent from Readdle.

Termination

Readdle reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Program at any time, without liability to you.

If the termination by Readdle is due to your breach of these Community Terms or the general Terms of Service for Calendars, Readdle reserves the right to revoke Rewards granted to you.

You may terminate your participation in the Program at any time by leaving the Community on the Calendars Discord server or contacting us. Upon termination of your participation in the Program, you will no longer be treated as an active Community Member and will not receive new Rewards.

If you wish to have content you submitted to the Community removed, you may submit a request to the community moderator or contact us. Readdle will review such requests and take reasonable steps to remove the relevant content from channels under its control, to the extent technically feasible.

Development Feedback

By sharing your ideas, feedback, and suggestions on the App in the Community (“Development Feedback”), and/or uploading files or samples to channels explicitly intended for product development, you grant Readdle a perpetual, worldwide, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free license to use such Development Feedback and files to maintain and improve our products or services.

We have the right to incorporate your Development Feedback into our existing or future products or services without compensation or further notice, though we are under no obligation to do so.

We will not publish, publicly display, or otherwise use your Development Feedback for marketing or advertising purposes without your separate consent.

Liability

We shall not accept responsibility if any information, materials, or content available through the Community is inaccurate or incomplete.

In no event shall Readdle, its affiliates, directors, partners, employees, contractors, or agents be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising out of or in any way connected with your participation in the Program or inability to access the Community. Examples of such damages include, but are not limited to, loss of, or damage to data, damages arising from the use of information provided or obtained through the Community, and those resulting from errors, omissions, interruptions, defects, or viruses, even if Readdle had been advised of their possibility.

The preceding limitations of liability do not apply to the extent prohibited by law.

If any part of the limitations of liability is found to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason or if we are otherwise found to be liable to you in any manner, then our aggregate liability for all claims under such circumstances shall not exceed 100.00 US dollars.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Readdle, our subsidiaries, directors, partners, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, responsibility, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal and accounting expenses, arising from:

any breach by you of these Community Terms;
any Development Feedback, communication, or materials shared by you within the Community; or
any violation by you of applicable laws and regulations, or any actual or alleged infringement of third-party rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights, related to your participation in the Program.

Miscellaneous

Modifications to the Community Terms. Readdle may modify the Community Terms at any time. If changes significantly affect your rights and obligations as a Community Member, we will provide you with prior notification. This notification can be delivered to you via email, a public message in a dedicated channel in the Community on Discord, or through any other communication channels. Your continued participation in the Program will signify your acceptance of the revised Community Terms.

Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution. These Community Terms are exclusively governed by and constructed under the laws of the Republic of Ireland, without regard to any conflict of laws provisions. All disputes related to these Community Terms are subject to the dispute resolution and jurisdiction procedures defined in the Terms of Service for Calendars.
