Readdle, makers of popular iPhone applications, today is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Scanner Pro 2.1, the latest version of their popular iPhone application which transforms the device into a portable scanner. The newest update introduces highly-anticipated fax integration that lets people fax scanned documents right from the iPhone for a reasonable fee.
Scanner Pro easily handles situations when a hard copy document should be scanned and there is no scanner nearby. It allows to scan multipage documents using iPhone camera, email them and even upload to Dropbox, Evernote, MobileMe iDisk or any other WebDAV enabled server. Scanner Pro 2.1 expands this extensive list with fax sending capability.
All people need to use the fax function is to enter destination fax number and pay for the operation via Apple's secure In App Purchase mechanism. The fax cost depends on the number of pages and receiver's country.
"The best fax machine is the one you have with you. Anyone who needed to send a fax without fax machine would say that it's true," says Alex Tyagulsky, Readdle CMO. "With iPhone and Scanner Pro you have a scanner and a fax right in your pocket."
Also, Scanner Pro 2.1 spotlights minor improvements that make application usage more convenient: support for the new Dropbox API, addition of the geo-location information for the scans send to Evernote, option to turn off edge auto-detection and Turkish localization.
