Empathy in Action: A Customer Support Lead's Journey to Creating Social Impact

Today, we feature Anastasiia Zelinska, Customer Support Lead at Spark. 

“I soon realized that my true passion lay in the Customer Support field.”

I graduated from ONAT academy with a degree in Telecommunications Engineering. After graduation, I was lucky enough to land a job at Readdle, which has been my one and only place of work so far. I originally had my sights set on becoming a QA specialist, but I soon realized that my true passion lay in the Customer Support field. I found that I truly enjoyed interacting with customers and helping them find solutions to their problems. This sense of satisfaction and fulfillment is what made me realize that Customer Support was the right fit for me.

For almost seven years now, I have been a part of the Readdle Customer Support team, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. After just two years on the job, I was promoted to team lead of the PDF&Documents Customer Support team, and a few years later, I was given the opportunity to lead the Spark Customer Support team. I absolutely love my job! Being a team lead is a fulfilling experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to support and encourage others in their professional development.

What drives and inspires me both in my work and in my life is my passion for taking care of my loved ones. My family, girlfriend, friends, and colleagues. I believe that a life well-lived is one that is characterized by kindness. I find genuine joy in making other people’s lives better, and this motivates me to do my best every day. Whether it’s my family, my team at work, or our customers, I am driven to help them in any way I can.

I also find inspiration in creative people and their work. I am fortunate to be surrounded by talented, open-minded, energetic people, and their experience and unique beliefs constantly motivate me to push my own boundaries and strive for excellence. Being a part of the Readdle team has been a source of pure inspiration and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow alongside such a talented group of creators and artists in their respective fields.

As a Customer Support team lead, I believe in creating a positive social impact through my work. By ensuring the satisfaction of our customers, my team and I are not only representing our Readdle brand but also contributing to the success of the company. Our work goes beyond just handling complaints and queries; it involves fostering a culture of empathy and understanding toward our customers. 

As a Customer Support Team Lead, I face unique challenges when it comes to balancing the needs of my team, our customers, and the company’s goals. It’s important to me that my team feels supported and motivated to provide excellent customer service, while also ensuring that we are meeting the needs of our customers and staying aligned with the company’s priorities. At times, it can be difficult to strike the right balance, but I strive to find the best solution for every part involved.

Beyond that, I also strive to create a social impact through my hobbies and beliefs. One of my passions is sharing the beauty of the Ukrainian language and culture with those around me. Recently, I’ve taken up the art of making traditional Ukrainian jewelry using beads, which not only allows me to connect with my heritage but also offers me an opportunity to showcase it to others. Moreover, I proudly support the feminist and LGBT movements, advocating for equality and inclusivity in all aspects of life. By combining my professional and personal endeavors, I hope to contribute positively to society and inspire others to do the same.
