Head of Communications - Readdle Consumer Apps

Readdle is looking for a growth-obsessed communications leader to help us realize our mission of harnessing technology to positively impact the lives of 1 billion people across the globe. You’ll take ownership of developing and executing Readdle’s communication vision and strategy. You will collaborate cross-functionally with the marketing and product teams with the goal of using PR, social media, influencers to inform, educate and inspire our customers thereby driving product awareness and engagement. You will also be responsible for building Readdle’s corporate and founder profiles in the media and leveraging your relationships with tech media. As the leader responsible for our corporate and employer brands you will develop a clear strategy and proposition to support both internal and external value creation. 

This is not a job for the faint-hearted.  We’re looking for a true communications leader to help us reach out to the public, journalists, and other parties for Readdle and all our products. The position comes with great responsibility, as you are accountable for the public perception of a company. Managing this perception involves developing marketing and communication strategies, understanding the importance of timing and setting, responding to crises and setbacks, overseeing a team of diverse communications roles, and ensuring that information released is consistent with the strategy. We want to be famous and famously loved for changing the world for the better.

You should have a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to define and deliver communication excellence across all industry and tech media environments, PR, and social media to help us build our brand and products to meet the agreed KPI’s.

What will you do:

  • Develop a cohesive communications strategy. Lead all communication, social media, and public relations planning and execution, monitor progress, and evaluate performance against agreed targets. Develop clear messages and ensure that they are deployed consistently internally and to external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop the Readdle brand proposition and values. Develop and implement a communications strategy for Readdle that builds and maintains a positive corporate brand. Assist leadership in developing presentations, speeches, and other important corporate messages
  • Manage Readdle’s reputation in the media, coordinate media interest in Readdle and its products, and ensure regular contact with target media contacts and influencers
  • Press Relations - Manage media relations and develop contacts with media members, influencers, and community leaders
  • Manage presence at events, trade shows, and conferences – for Readdle employer brand and products
  • Maintaining an awareness of company risks and threats. Crisis management and pre-emptive planning. Cultivating an environment of readiness and alertness. Ensuring quality control of all information released
  • Managing a communications budget
  • Manage the communications team with responsibility for all internal and external communications. Manage external communication suppliers and agencies, setting clear objectives and KPIs against which to measure performance
  • Develop social media channels. Build a comprehensive social media ecosystem for Readdle and its products to ensure customer engagement, build followers and ensure our key messages are communicated effectively to a wide audience. Manage outreach and communities across all geographic regions
  • Manage our Employer Brand. Create an environment that attracts, retains, and motivates top-quality colleagues. Oversee corporate and product communications and branding in various online and print platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and industry magazines
  • Measure communication impact. Use a data-driven approach to uncover and measure communication opportunities and initiatives
  • Team leadership. Build and lead a growing team of high-performing communication specialists. Manage relationships with internal teams and stakeholders, creating strong relationships across

About you:

  • Degree in communications, Marketing, or related field
  • 10+ years communications experience, preferably in a digital media product orientated environment
  • Extensive list of media contacts
  • Awareness of and proficiency with communications technologies
  • Experience in stakeholder/community engagement
  • Clear and concise communication with team members and senior management.
  • Strong and confident leadership
  • Strong project management and planning skills. Ability to execute. You don’t mind rolling up your sleeves and delivering projects end-to-end
  • Strengths in proactive problem-solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven dynamic work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • Knowledge and experience in the analysis and driving actionable insights
  • An understanding of the digital landscape and its impact on the future of the content marketing industry
  • Excellent command of English language and grammar alongside excellent communication skills and first-class editing skills
  • Budget management & external agency management experience
  • Strong team leadership credentials and exceptional people coaching skills
