We all need a place to save all of our notes, text extracts, quotes etc. Sure, there's a bunch of apps that allow doing that. What's really great about Documents is that it's your central hub for everything. Thus, you can store text notes right where you store anything else. To save any text from a web page or other apps like Pages, iBooks or Notes as a new text file, follow the steps below:

iPad

  1. Copy the text you need
  2. Launch Documents app
  3. Tap the + button at the bottom
  4. Select New File
  5. Tap and hold on the newly opened file and tap Paste
  6. Tap and save the new file

iPhone

  1. Copy the text you need
  2. Launch Documents app
  3. Tap Edit in Documents tab
  4. Tap More... in the bottom right corner
  5. Tap Create Text
  6. Tap and hold on the newly opened file and tap Paste
  7. Tap and save the new file
